These springs are 2.5" ID on the ends but increase slightly in diameter in the center.   This geometry helps to reduce any rubbing on the coilover hardware or gland nuts.  It also makes for a more stable spring that has less side loading.    The barrel geometry gives these springs additional travel before they coil bind over their straight geometry counterparts.
